About JIJ
22 years, 25 Supreme Court victories.
Seeking justice for survivors of terrorism, human trafficking, and discrimination. Standing against antisemitism in all its forms.
Pursuing justice, promoting freedom, and advancing human rights in Israel and the Middle East.
Justice shouldn’t depend on what you can afford.
Our Story
The Jerusalem Institute of Justice was founded in 2004 by a small team of Jerusalem lawyers who shared a simple conviction: justice should not depend on your ability to pay for it.
Wounded soldiers seeking recognition and the benefits they are entitled to. Women and girls exploited in prostitution rebuilding their lives. New immigrants navigating an overwhelming bureaucracy. Families advocating for children with disabilities. Religious minorities seeking the freedom to live and practice their faith in the world’s only Jewish state.
Over the last 22 years, JIJ lawyers have won 25 precedent-setting victories in Israel’s Supreme Court. We’ve represented over 30,000 individuals and families, and won $17 million in benefits and judgments for our clients. No retainer fees, no contingencies, just world class legal representation, completely free of charge.
Today, JIJ operates on two interconnected fronts. Inside Israel, our Justice Clinic provides free legal representation to people in need and advances systemic change through strategic litigation and legislative advocacy. Internationally, our Global Justice Center confronts efforts to delegitimize Israel (which fuels global antisemitism) through international legal advocacy, research, and public diplomacy.
This work has positioned JIJ as a respected legal voice in the forums where rights, law, and public opinion are shaped, from Israel’s Supreme Court and the Knesset to the United Nations, where we hold Special Consultative Status, and global media platforms. Justice shouldn’t depend on what you can afford.
Our Approach
We work from the inside. JIJ brings real people and real-world experience into the rooms where laws, policies, and international decisions are shaped. From government ministries and courts to the Knesset (Israel’s Parliament) and international institutions, we turn the experiences of survivors of terrorism, combat, human trafficking, and discrimination into legal action and policy change, grounded in reality, not rhetoric.
JIJ turns legal expertise into action, from securing justice in Israel’s courts and advancing national legislation to defending Israel where its legitimacy is challenged. At the United Nations (UN), the International Criminal Court (ICC), and in diplomatic forums worldwide, we bring evidence, law, and firsthand testimony to the table.
We are not a political or protest organization. We are legal advocates. The difference matters.

Our Team
JIJ’s team of lawyers, researchers, diplomats, and advocates is diverse, pluralistic, and multinational. Between our staff of 15, we speak 8 languages and hold passports in 6 countries. We share a commitment to defending the rights of Israel’s most vulnerable.
“The reason the world is in chaos is that things are loved, and people are used. JIJ steps into the darkest places, positively changes lives, and works to hold abusers and corrupt bureaucracies accountable. Whether we are defending the civil rights of vulnerable minorities who need a champion in the courtroom, or promoting the legitimacy of Israel on the international stage, we use every legal tool at our disposal to advocate for truth and freedom.”
“The work of justice depends on more than what happens in the courtroom. My role is to build and protect the operational foundation that allows this organization to serve with integrity, stability, and purpose.”
“The enemies of Israel have endless resources to attack our clients and grind them down. We rely entirely on the courage of our donors to fight back. My core role is to bridge the gap between our frontline legal team and the global community that funds them, ensuring our survivors never face the bureaucracy alone.”
“As a former prosecutor, I’m sensitive to the rights of victims. When bureaucrats and politicians decide to discriminate against the vulnerable, my job is to force them into the courtroom. Whether we are fighting for a disabled child's right to residency or a minority group's right to exist without prejudice, we don't just ask for basic rights—we demand them, and we win them.”
“As a veteran of combat in Gaza, I witnessed the true face of terror firsthand when my friends and commanders were killed. Today, my battlefield is the UN and the international courts. We do not have the luxury to despair—my job is to ensure Hamas pays the price for its crimes and that the resilience of our survivors is never silenced.”
“As a grandchild of Holocaust survivors, I spent my career fighting for vulnerable refugees in conflict zones from Ukraine to the Congo. Today, I am proud to fight for my own people on the global stage. I represent JIJ in New York and Washington because the world’s double standards will not determine the Jewish people’s right to survive and thrive.”
“Growing up in Argentina, I saw how the perpetrators of the 1994 AMIA bombing evaded justice when the world looked away. I represent JIJ at the UN to ensure the trauma our clients survived is never denied, redacted, or forgotten.”
“Our soldiers put their lives on the line to defend this country, and survivors of terror endure unimaginable horrors. They should never have to fight a second, agonizing war against their own government's bureaucracy just to get the medical and psychological care they are legally owed. I fight to make sure they don't have to.”
“Where systems fail and voices are silenced, I wish to turn the law into a force for dignity, humanity, protection and truth.”
“My practice is rooted in the belief that legal representation should turn rights into practical outcomes. My work with the Ministry of Justice’s Anti-Trafficking Unit and in criminal law has given me a deep, practical understanding of how legal bureaucracy operates. I use that knowledge to help clients navigate complex systems, overcome barriers, and ensure their rights and protections are upheld.”
“Moving from Argentina to Israel just before October 7th highlighted the gap between international legal theory and the reality of survivors. I work to bridge that gap in global forums, ensuring the victims of these atrocities are never overlooked in the pursuit of justice.”
“Those who seek to harm Israel have endless resources to threaten the vulnerable. It is the love our donors carry for this nation that allows us to reach survivors, wounded soldiers, and trafficking victims who would otherwise face this fight alone. I see my role as the connective thread between our legal team on the ground and the community abroad and in Israel, whose devotion makes their work possible, so that no vulnerable life in Israel is left unseen.”
“In the modern age, if you cannot show the world the truth, it is easily denied. From managing the digital rollout of SATURDAY October 7 to creating the visual assets that compel action, my job is to ensure the stories of our survivors cut through the noise and algorithm censorship.”
